IT MAY HAVE been the heat, the clear skies or as Red Plastic Bag once said, it may have been “something in de music”, but whatever it was, it all led to the 2016 Junior Kadooment and Fair being a smoothly-run event.
The annual jump-up, which came off in association with the Barbados Lumber Company and Nicholls Bakery, saw over 2 250 young masqueraders in 14 bands take over the National Stadium yesterday.
As scheduled, the national anthem was played at 9 a.m. sharp, then Antoine “Brudda Daddy” Williams blessed the event with a prayer and the show was declared open by the commanding voice of Margaret Allman-Goddard. The two then shared emcee duties.
