As a professional chef I always want to do my very best, but I’m also open to further training and development.
What is your biggest professional challenge?
Preparing and cooking the food at UMI Restaurant and managing the restaurant. It’s a happy juggle of duties.
What is your biggest life challenge?
Being far away from my family who live in the Philippines.
When you look to the future, what do you see?
My dream as an Asian chef in Barbados is to have the biggest impact at Sugar Bay Resort.
What is your favourite pastime?
I love playing basketball. Back home in the Philippines, you can find basketball courts at every street corner.
What is your favourite meal?
My favourite meal is chicken teriyaki with white rice.
On Saturday nights, where are you likely to be?
Most Saturday nights, I’m at home watching movies or cooking dinner.
What upsets you the most?
I’m detail-oriented so missing deadlines would upset me the most.
What is your guiding philosophy?
I’m a simple and humble man who is always willing to help others.
If you had the chance to manage Barbados for a day, what would you do?
To make the roads in Barbados better because I love it here.
