LAUDERHILL – Tridents Pride of Barbados bowed out of the Hero Caribbean Premier League last night before a flag-waving crowd of Guyanese supporters who thronged the ground at the Central Broward Regional Park.

Needing to beat the Guyana Amazon Warriors to keep their hopes alive of qualifying in the playoffs, they fell to a six-wicket defeat which gave the Trinbago Knightriders the fourth and final spot to join the Jamaica Tallawahs, the Warriors and St Lucia Zouks.

Chasing 158 for victory, the Warriors needed four runs to win in the last over, and when Kieron Pollard started with two maiden deliveries it added some excitement and intrigue until Jason Mohammed smashed his fifth six in his knock of 57 not out to send the 11 000 spectators into a frenzy.
