KIERON POLLARD has dismissed suggestions that modern day cricketers who play mainly the Twenty20 form of the game were all about money.

In an interview with NATIONSPORT, Pollard, captain of Tridents Pride of Barbados in the Caribbean Premier League, said the decision to play the extra shorter form of the game was not chosen by them in many cases but was forced on them based on the options available.

“When you look at it, we haven’t gone on and said we are going to play T20 cricket for money. We were backed in corners and we had no choice,” said Pollard.

Responding to those who say cricketers should put their country first, Pollard queried who would feed their families. (RG)
