KINGSTON – West Indies selectors have run out of patience with opener Rajendra Chandrika and recalled Shai Hope.

After scoring 69 for the WICB President’s XI against India last month, Chandrika has not made an impression in any of the four innings of the Test series.

He scored 16 and 31 in Antigua and followed that up with five and one, respectively in Jamaica.

In his last Test for West Indies, Hope scored nine in the drawn second match against Australia.

Since returning to the Caribbean, he was unbeaten on 118 for the President’s XI and also scored 11 and 17. He had a very productive season for Barbados in the Professional Cricket League, including two centuries and two half centuries.

The third Test will be played at the Darren Sammy National Cricket Ground in St Lucia from August 9 to 13.

India lead the series 1-0.
