BARP fete pure gold

It seems as though the couple hundred people who attended the show at the Plantation Garden Theatre in St Lawrence, Christ Church, on Saturday night came to party and have a good time because at around 8 p.m. MC Jennifer Walker did not have to encourage them to get up and head to the dancing area.

Billed as More Than A Fete, It’s A Celebration, the event allowed those who were not in the country for the Crop Over or those who wanted to catch some of the top acts and songs and enjoy golden oldies – those sweet tunes that never grow old – to do just that.

Let me tell you, from the first performer, Coopa Dan, who did Ugly and Unmannerly, Question Of The Year and Home, to the last, Lil Rick, it was hit after hit and non-stop action. Walker’s jokes in between the performances were well timed and hilarious, even if you had heard them before. (GBM)
