MINISTER OF HEALTH John Boyce has admitted to gaps in laws governing the food industry.

He said there was need to develop modern risk and science-based approaches to deal with the challenge in keeping up with the “ever-changing legal and regulatory standard within theglobal food industry”.

His acknowledgement of the shortcomings came at the start of the second annual Barbados Food Laws and Industry Conference yesterday at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre. It was held against the backdrop of claims of breaches by some companies.
