TOP BARBADOS surfer Bruce Mackie finished an impressive third at the 2016 World Surf League QS100 Boardmasters competition which concluded on Sunday at Fistral Beach, in Cornwall, England.

In the WSL event, rated as one of the biggest and most prestigious competitions on the professional British surfing calendar, the 24-year-old Mackie emerged as the most outstanding Caribbean performer at the international event where fellow Barbadians Che Allan and Chelsea Roett also took on the waves.

The 21-year-old Roett was also impressive among international female surfers and finished fifth after winning her qualifying rounds to make the Women’s Open final.

Allan, the youngest member of Barbados’ contingent, finished 17th overall and also established his best WSL career result to date. (PR)
