HAILING THE QUEEN BEE

SHE IS CONSIDERED the darling of the women of the Barbados Labour Party (BLP), and Opposition Leader Mia Mottley needed extra arms yesterday to return the hugs and embraces she received from female BLP supporters outside the Parliament Buildings.

It was minutes before she entered Parliament to reply to Minister of Finance Chris Sinckler’s Budget.

Mottley was swarmed by the women in the effusive crowd of about 100 waiting outside the Parliament gates, when she walked back to greet the group of supporters immediately after alighting from her vehicle.

“Here comes our prime minister,” some shouted as Mottley approached the group. (GC)
