Top drivers show way home

LOCAL ACE Roger ‘The Sheriff’ Skeete and Jamaica’s Jeff Panton shared the honours in the Motoring Club Barbados Inc’s. (MCBI) Berger King Full Throttle Speed event last Sunday.

But a blown engine suffered by Andrew Jones to his Ford Escort MkI caused the organisers to cancel the third run of Round 2 which was a double header from Mapps, St Philip to Stewart’s Hill, St John.

Skeete, at the wheel of his Subaru Impreza WRC S12B, picked good lines as he mastered the conditions in sunny conditions, after the 10 a.m start.

He posted the fastest time of one minute 48.80 seconds, a shade faster than the hard-charging visiting Panton in the Ford Focus WRC06, whose time was one minute 48.81 seconds.
