SINCE THERE HAS been a great deal of pussyfooting with this issue, I would like to know what it would take to have the much- needed round-table discussion as mooted by the Leader of the Opposition, become a reality to get Barbados out of the morass it is presently in?
Without rehashing a lot of the Budget rhetoric, I just need to ask one pertinent question.
If there is a Cabinet of Barbados which meets regularly and only recently proposed its 2016 Budget, then why would it take a member of the said Cabinet to use the floor of Parliament to make recommendations to a Budget that they all met to discuss and agree to, previously?
I am therefore calling on the Press in this country to work assiduously with the Opposition in creating the platform necessary to reach the public.
David Ellis, the grandfather of call-in programmes I wish to throw out the challenge to him to use Brass Tacks as the facilitator for this. Two days of the regular format of Brass Tacks being changed is more than a welcomed move.
Let the intelligent multi-mixed-professionals be given the forum and opportunity to assist we the public, in accessing the facts as to the true position which this country faces.
