POPULAR DEEJAY and soca artiste Lil Rick took centre stage in a different way when he was honoured by the campers of the Pinelands Creative Workshop (PCW)/Royal Barbados Police Force Summer Arts and Development Programme Thursday night.
The 45 campers in paying tribute to Lil Rick, treated the audience comprising Acting Deputy Commissioner of Police Oral Williams, Inspector Barry Hunte, entertainer Anthony Gabby Carter, parents and friends – to a potpourri of cultural expressions: song, dance, theatre and music during the two hour showcase of the best of Lil Rick under the theme I Like Muhself.
PCW Chief executive officer Rodney Grant, during his presentation spoke of his association with Lil Rick from his youth, and his depth of writing especially social commentary which Grant described as still relevant as it captured the indigenous Barbadian social norms and customs. (JS)
