THE VOTERS’ LISTS needs to be available long in advance of any general elections, according to Bishop Joe Atherley of the Barbados Labour Party (BLP).

Atherley, who is his party’s nominee for the St Michael West constituency, wants the final lists in the hands of candidates within a reasonable time, so they can do their checks.

He made the comments last evening at a joint branch meeting of the St Michael Central and St Michael West branches of the BLP held at his office at Advent House, Bank Hall Main Road, St Michael.

Arthur Holder and Ryan Straughn, who have both been chosen by the party as its candidates in St Michael Central and Christ Church East Central, respectively, along with St James North MP Edmund Hinkson, also addressed the meeting. (LK)
