Fines for men on drug charges

TWO ST MICHAEL MEN were fined a total of $13 000 after appearing in the District “A” Criminal Court today on drug charges.

Steve Brathwaite, 38, of Forde’s Road, Clapham, St Michael was ordered to pay $3 000 in six months or serve three months in prison on the charge of cultivating cannabis.

He was convicted, reprimanded and discharged on charges of possession, possession with intent to supply and trafficking.

Meanwhile, Dwayne Brathwaite, 35, of the same address was fined $10 000 in eight months for cultivated cannabis.  If he does not pay, he will spend one year in prison.

He was convicted, reprimanded and discharged for the same offences as Steve.

Also appearing in the District “A” Court today was 25-year-old Daley Dennis Price of Maxwell Hill, Christ Church.

He was remanded to prison and will reappear at the Oistins Court to face several charges of theft, burglary, criminal damage and disorderly behavior.  (PR/NB)
