Although the robust Shonica Wharton continued her tremendous form, leading all scorers with 22 goals from 28 attempts, she started slowly as captain Sheniqua Thomas ignited the attack, finishing with nine from 11. Vanessa Reid-Cox later came off the bench to add 11 from 15.

Thomas showed the experience gained from four years duty on the senior team to play a tremendous role at goal attack in running plays deep in the midcourt, and then adding an exclamation mark in the circle with some gems into the basket.

Coach Sandra Bruce-Small was reservedly pleased with the outcome of the match while indicating that there were some areas they needed to tweak. (KB)
