BARBADOS’ FOOTBALLERS didn’t qualify for the Olympic Games in Brazil but some of them have taken a different route on the road towards their goals.
Senior team captain Mario Harte is among three national players who are now in Indonesia plying their trade in that country’s prestigious Super League.
Harte, arguably the leading striker in Barbados, is joined by Ramario Harewood, the skillful Barbados Defence Force Sports Programme captain and midfielder, as well as University of the West Indies’ defender, Ronaldo Bayley.
The trio left Barbados last Friday and are expected to return home in mid December.
Just a fortnight ago, another national footballer, Hadan Holligan, signed his first professional contract with Finnish Third Division club, Sporting Kristina. (EZS)
