THE BARBADOS team performed their ‘A’ stroke in the pool to capture 52 medals at the 21st Goodwill Swim Meet in St Lucia last weekend.
Maintaining their position in last year’s competition, the 35-member team placed third with 741 points behind Suriname, who took second position with 1 126, and first-place winner Trinidad and Tobago with 1 465 points.
“Not having a full team I was satisfied with the results. I could not get anything else out of them because they did their best,” said head coach Ancille Inniss while speaking to SATURDAY SPORT.
Swimming for her final year in the 9 to10 category, Adia Deane left her mark in the pool at the Rodney Heights Swim Club in Rodney Bay, Gros Islet, St Lucia, when she seized three gold, two silver and three bronze medals. (RG)
