AN “ARTIST” who passed away two years ago has left a treasured piece of his painting behind for the men on the block.
People driving through New Orleans, The City, are marvelling at the large map of Barbados that stands on a spot used by some in the neighbourhood for liming.
Alex Lovell told the SATURDAY SUN it was the artwork of a man named Izebo, who passed away two years ago.
“He wasn’t from out here but he used to come around and lime with the fellas. From young he had this thing of art inside of he and he was a very spirited guy,” he said.
Lovell said they were delighted to show off the map especially given that Barbados was celebrating 50 years of Independence. He said it was also a great piece for The City community to have.
“These fellas out here are spirited fellas. This is a good thing for the community because you know police like coming out here and ripping down this and that because they always think we on the corner smoking drugs. But when the police come they would see there is strictly peace on this corner.”
