TWO FAMILIES were plunged into mourning as a result of the loss of their loved ones who drowned yesterday.

Police reports are that the body of 73-year-old Oscar Holford of Bannister Land, Martindale’s Road, St Michael, was discovered at Browne’s Beach, St Michael, early yesterday.

The other death, according to police, was that of 65-year-old Collin Greaves, of Hope Road, St Lucy. It was around 11 a.m. when Greaves was spearfishing at Nan’s Bay, in the same parish, with a friend and reportedly never resurfaced after diving into the sea to retrieve his spear gun.

Greaves’ body was later seen floating in the water, about 100 metres from the cliff. The body was removed from the water by his friend and two other men from the area. They brought it to shore and the Barbados Fire Service was summoned to assist in bringing the body from the bottom of the cliff. (RA/HLE)
