ORGANISERS of Animekon 2016 said they expected more than 4 000 visitors at the weekend event.

Melissa Young, co-founder of Animekon Inc., the company responsible for the event which ended at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre yesterday, said that the two-day expo had attracted about 2 000 on the first day Saturday and had outgrown the space on the ground floor.

She recalled they recorded about 3 500 patrons last year.

This year there were about 200 exhibitors, an increase over 2015. They included comic book publishing companies, graphic designers, artistes and game shops. The United States Embassy also came on board as one of the sponsors with a booth on display. (TG)
