THE BARBADOS Immigration Department is investigating a complaint by a Jamaican national that she was mistreated by immigration officers at the Grantley Adams International Airport after arriving by air from Trinidad on August 27.

In a brief statement via the Government Information Service (GIS), Chief Immigration Officer Wayne Marshall said “a comprehensive response to the incident will be issued” through the same GIS once the department had completes its investigations.

Jamaican national Sonya King is alleging she and 14-month-old son Kaleb were mistreated when they arrived on the island.

She is threatening to take Barbados to the Caribbean Court of Justice after initially being denied entry and later given two days on the island. (BN)
