UNTIDY driving and spins were not enough to prevent the Jamaican pair of Jeff Panton and Mike Fennell Jr  from chalking up another rally victory in Barbados this year.

They drove away with the Barbados Rally Club’s (BRC) Summer Nights Rally last Saturday with a total elapsed time of 29 minutes, 51.31 seconds at the wheel of the Rubis/Sandals Barbados/KIG Ford Focus WRC06.

But the Jamaicans, who won nine of 11 stages and led throughout the event, which had attracted 28 starters, said it was a poor rally for them as they to battle with numerous problems and made mistakes with untidy driving and spins.

“We had tyre issues, suspension issues and a leaking hydraulic system, making it quite miserable, and we weren’t able to go ‘head to head’ with Roger, as he had issues, too,” Panton noted. (TT)
