GOVERNMENT’S TASK FORCE on the Preservation of Barbados’ Built Heritage and the Foundation Trust has been restructured and chairman Sir Henry Fraser has been replaced.

Minister of Culture Stephen Lashley told the DAILY NATION the task force, set up in July 2015, had been “refocused and restructured” with a new name – The Heritage Preservation Task Force Of Barbados. Architect Geoffrey Ramsey has been appointed the new chairman of both the task force and the trust, while Sir Paul Altman is the new deputy chairman.

Lashley explained the new name “reflects the need to widen the scope of fundraising efforts and take account of the full gamut of heritage preservation efforts currently under way and contemplated and the personages behind those efforts”. (GC)
