BARBADOS needs zero tolerance on gun crime.

This is the view of Minister of Culture, Sports and Youth Stephen Lashley who, in an exclusive interview with the MIDWEEK NATION, laid out a plan of zero tolerance, deterrence and detection to combat recent gun related activity in the country.

“I believe that the prevalence of guns, the access to guns, is something that we [need to] root out totally,” he said.

“The guns must be coming from somewhere and the fact that persons are having access to them, and not just access, but they’re having access to very high-powered firearms that are all illegal, is a source of profound concern,” Lashley added. (AD)
