THE THREE-MONTH residential component will be back when the Barbados Youth Service programme resumes at the Barbados Defence Force’s Paragon, Christ Church base on September 25.

A permanent home for the programme is still being sought but it is being brought out of its short hiatus with the assistance of the BDF, which signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Youth this morning.

Against the background of 182 applicants for the 80 available spaces, Minister Stephen Lashley said a way has to be found to address the capacity issue, because they should not have to be turning away youths who are interested in the programme. (YB)
