Hot shot Blackman leads Brittons Hill romp

BUOYED BY 100 per cent shooting from experienced Barbados netballer Latonia Blackman, Brittons Hill logged a high-scoring 60-36 victory over Elite when the Barbados Workers Union Netball Tournament continued on Sunday at the Netball Stadium.

Blackman scored all 29 of her shots and was ably supported by Nadia Blackman, who netted 24 of 36 attempts. Sabreena Smith chipped in with five goals from 11 attempts, and Delicia Murrell also scored two of her five shots in the Roy Trotman Zone match.

Elite utilised five shooters, with Vanessa Reid-Cox being the most productive, scoring 23 of her 28 attempts. Nyasha Williams was a perfect five from five, while Brandy Grosvenor netted four of seven shots.

In the same zone, The Avengers, led by 30 goals from 41 attempts by Shanice Banfield, defeated Chickmont Ballers 45-37. (EZS)
