‘Water, not talk’

THE GRATITUDE OF St Joseph residents is wearing thin.

Yesterday for the second straight day, those with dry taps scooped up water delivered to the area by none other than the source of their problem, the Barbados Water Authority (BWA).

“We don’t need talk, we need water,” cried one resident, a sentiment echoed by many others.

Since November last year, the pipes in the parish have been running dry, initially from a drought, but that was compounded by the BWA undertaking a mains replacement project and distribution issues. The lack of water to carry out basic hygiene and household chores has been a constant grievance for nearly a year.  (RL/AC )
