ST GEORGE SOUTH and hosts St Philip North were victorious in their opening matches of this year’s David Thompson Memorial Constituency Councils’ Football Classic at Hilda Skeene Primary School on Friday night.
Last year’s losing semi-finalists, St George South trounced St Michael Central 3-0, courtesy goals by Shakille Best (25th minute), Rosean Brathwaite (57th) and substitute Dario Harewood (81st).
In the feature match, a youthful St Philip North outfit edged St Michael North 1-0 after Tyrell Bancroft converted a penalty in the 76th minute. (EZS)
