ZANE MALONEY is the 2016 World Karting Association’s (WKA) Bridgestone Manufacturers Cup Series Yamaha champion.
He won the title at the New Castle Motorsports Park, Indiana, last Sunday.
It was the final day of the 2016 season for the WKA Bridgestone Manufacturers Cup Series and bright sunshine greeted the racers, with the tenth and final round of the championship programme deciding the eight series champions.
At the wheel of a Praga kart, Maloney, a former Barbados Karting Association (BKA) champion driver, had to survive a number of contact moments during the race.
Crew chief and father, Sean Maloney, told NATION SPORT that it was a tremendous experience for the youngster, as he was pushed off the track in the first race after leading. (TT)
