Business as usual in Oistins

THE ALL CLEAR has not been given and the weather is expected to worsen but Oistins Fish Market is a hive of activity.

Fishermen are out selling fish, vendors are out plying their trade and the popular Lexi Bar is open and full of patrons eating drinking, playing cards and dominoes and hanging out.

Leather craft vendor Andrew Matchew who sells in Bridgetown decided to leave his Christ Church home and flock to Oistins to try to make a dollar.

However, he said no one was buying.   I expected it to be like this. I going back home soon,” he said.

Dean Edgehill who lives at Kirtons ,St Philip said he was operating a shop for his brother and travelled all the way to Oistins to buy fish.

Fish vendor Mark Callender said he came out selling “because that is my job.” (MB)
