PATIENTS OF THE Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) with appointments or minor surgeries scheduled for this morning should contact the hospital to reschedule once the all clear is given.
Communications specialist Julie Carrington said the disaster plan for the QEH kicked in yesterday, with last night’s shift staying on in case those rostered for this morning had difficulty getting to work.
She said the opening of the polyclinics also depended on the change in the emergency situation as officials continue to monitor the tropical disturbance which is affecting the island.
She said the generators were checked and sand bags put in place to assist in case of flooding, which has not occurred recently.
Carrington said they were thankful the Accident & Emergency did not have to be relocated. (AC)
