Quiet in the north

THERE HAVE BEEN MIXED conditions in the north as Barbadians continue to brace for the impact of a tropical disturbance.

Although the national all clear has not been given, there were some people on the road in Speightstown, St Peter, waiting for transportation.

The bus terminal is empty except for two security guards and a few pigeons, but there was a minibus taking passengers to Bridgetown.

Conditions are overcast, but all is well in the capital of the north, which is prone to flooding.

Members of the Royal Barbados force are out on patrol, both on motorcycle and in a sport utility vehicle.  

There has been rain in some communities like Mount Brevitor, St Peter which is without water, but it was quiet at Moon Town, St Lucy.

Business is open at Moon Town and people are out and about to purchase necessities, including the MIDWEEK NATION. Others are just congregating, chatting and having a social drink along with some cou cou and salt fish (RL)
