PERCEPTIONS that the two children involved in the recent home-schooling controversy cannot read or write are far from true, their parents say.
They have made it clear they had been charged with and found guilty of not enrolling the nine-year-old girl and 12-year-old boy in a school – not that the siblings had not been getting an education.
The additional challenge the parents are now confronting is the decision by the Child Care Board to apply to the High Court to have the children made wards of the court.
While the parents, members of the Rastafari Jah Holy Faith, have not done all that was required to complete the process that would have made home-schooling legal, they maintained that they have not faltered in ensuring the children received a sound education, despite the claims of some postings on social media.
