Josiah no match for McCatty

LOCAL BOY Oein Josiah gave it his all but had no answer to Jamaican Phillip McCatty in the 26th national triathlon yesterday.

McCatty, last year’s champion, staved off the challenge of Josiah to win the event by two seconds on the Spring Garden course by Brandon’s Beach.

Former national champion Darren Treasure took third place, finishing ten seconds behind Josiah.

McCatty, who was able to eclipse the other 12 male competitors, finished in a time of two hours, nine minutes and 48 seconds, two minutes slower than his winning time last year. (RA)
