‘Kicking the can down the coast’

SURFERS AND SOME homeowners are still not buying in to the proposal for beach rehabilitation and marine conservation at Sandy Lane Bay and nearby areas in St James.

“Nonsense!” was the sharp response of William Woodroffe, owner of a beachfront property at Paynes Bay. 

He was among the fewer than 20 people who attended a public consultation on Friday at Colony Club, St James, with those involved in the project.

“All you’re going to do is alter the natural conditions that we have in that bay because somebody who has money to spend is ready to spend some money,” said a clearly upset Woodroffe. (WILLCOMM)
