Man receives 30 year sentence for double killing

ONE OF TWO men charged with killing a man and his son-in-law five years ago has been sentenced to 30 years in prison.

Deon Dacosta Maynard’s sentence was read to him this morning as he appeared before Justice Jacqueline Cornelius in the No. 5 Supreme Court.

Gerhard Stock and Arthur Chaderton lost their lives when Maynard and Charles Matthew O’Brian Frederick entered their home in Salters, St George on August 2, 2011.

Maynard, who represented himself, was found guilty of double manslaughter on February 17 this year.

Frederick who pleaded guilty to manslaughter received two life sentences in 2012. (TKS)
