I AGREE WITH economist Jeremy Stephen that there is money in marijuana.
What Mr Stephen omitted to say, or ignore, is that apart from the fact that there is money in marijuana, there are a plethora of other things in marijuana too, inclusive of killings, stabbings and murders, theft, house-breaking and larceny, homelessness and vagrancy, incarceration either at Dodds or the Psychiatric Hospital, conspicuous consumption or the like, even permanent graveyard residence and certain untimely death.
No wonder Jesus said in 1 Timothy 6:10, “For the love of money is the root of all evil. Which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and poured themselves through with many sorrows”. Am I annoying somebody?
Mr Stephen, you are aware that some terrorists groups in certain parts of the world have used kidnapping as a bargaining tool and in the final analysis, hold countries, families or individuals to ransom, and in some cases get money for kidnapping. So, there is money in kidnapping too!
Many people don’t bother about Jesus anymore. Some even teach, preach, convinced themselves and try to convince others to the effect that Jesus of Nazareth never existed and that He was merely a figment of men’s imaginations. Are any of you reading this article one of those who have that belief, without evidence of course? I have it or can show it. I mean, all the evidence!
The fact of the matter is that what Jesus said over 2 000 years ago is more than relevant today.
He said in Matthew 6:19-21: “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal. But lay up for yourselves treasures in Heaven where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal. For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.”
That is more true now than when Jesus said so years ago.
