ICBL EMPIRE overcame a nervous run chase to secure a four-wicket victory over BDFSP and extend their lead at the top of the Elite Division cricket standings yesterday.Â
Empire moved to 87 points, 15 clear of second-placed Wanderers after the sixth series of matches.
Set 163 to win in a minimum 45 overs, Empire lost captain Jamal Smith and Kofie Hurdle cheaply.Â
Kevin Stoute and Andre Roach rebuilt the innings in a third-wicket partnership of 82 in just over an hour, but both fell in the midst of a mini collapse as three wickets tumbled for 11 runs. (PH)
