HURRICANE MATTHEW’S devastation on The Bahamas has forced several Barbadian students to flee that group of islands in the northern Caribbean.
Some of the students who returned to Barbados yesterday lamented conditions under which they were forced to live while the country tried to return to normal after the strongest hurricane in nearly a decade slammed into the island chain last week.
Other students are expected to arrive today.
About 20 Barbadians are studying for degrees in various tourism-related disciplines at the Centre for Hospitality and Tourism Management. The academic programme is an institutional arrangement between the University of the West Indies and The Bahamas. (GE)
