Churches ‘must take some blame’

SOME CHURCH LEADERS have been weighed on the scales and found wanting by a minister who charged they were adding to society’s deviancy by diluting the gospel of God to increase membership.

Reverend Dr Lucille Baird, senior pastor of Mount Zion’s Missions, said anything could be rationalised once the focus on Christ Jesus was diluted.

“We have a church within the church,” Baird told the congregation at her Rock Dundo, St James church on Sunday, which was hosting a service for Crime Awareness Week in conjunction with the Criminal Justice Research and Planning Unit.

“There are some calling themselves a church but are not preaching the pure gospel of Jesus Christ. . . ” . (SDB Media)
