FORMER volleyball giants and knockout champions Barbados Bearings Progressive rebounded from a first game loss to reel in Cawmere when the Goddard Enterprises Limited Division 1 League continued at the Kensington Bond on Wednesday night.
Cawmere, who were looking to join league champions Deacons at the top of the early standings, squandered the advantage to lose 25-22, 20-25, 25-18, 16-25, 10-25.
While an all-round game by Progressive helped them to brush away their opening loss to Deacons, Cawmere made some tactical blunders which cost them the match.
Former Jamaican national player Mark Lewis, who came across from Chargers, was his dominant attacking and blocking self at the off-setter position and veteran outside attacker Rafael Lovell, who had missed the opening victory over Foundation United, were cruising as the Waterford lads took the first and second sets.
