AFTER JUST ONE week on the job a private garbage collector working with the Sanitation Service Authority (SSA) has expressed deep appreciation for how hard SSA workers toiled daily to keep the island clean.

Chief executive officer of Jose´ y Jose´ Liquid and Solid Waste Management Anderson Cherry said he had “great personal respect” for the SSA collectors.

“I really think they deserve a gold medal for the hard work they have to put in. I am doing it now and it is a very dirty, . . .very hard job to do.

“I, personally as a CEO, go out there and put my hands to the plough so I can have a better idea of what is going on. I drive the truck; I have picked up garbage and I have respect for those guys. They should be commended for their hard work,” Cherry said. (LK)
