ONE WEEK AFTER Kelvin Brewster’s murder, residents of Jackson, St Michael remain unwilling to shed tears or lose any sleep over his violent end at the age of 34.

In fact, while a number of people from the community interviewed by the WEEKEND NATION spoke of their respect for the sanctity of life, without exception they described Brewster as a village bully, charging he was not well liked because of his violent treatment of others.

Brewster, of Arsenal Playing Field Road, Jackson, St Michael was shot in the back of the head last Friday. He was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital by hospital, but succumbed to his injuries hours later.

Five days after the shooting, Shamar Ishmael, 25, of 1st Avenue Jackson was remanded to HMP Dodds after appearing in court charged with Brewster’s murder. (RB)
