GWENDOLYN FORDE is the newest entrant into the growing 100-year-old club in Barbados.

Forde, who moved from New Orleans to her present home in 2nd Avenue Parks Road, Bush Hall, St Michael, in the 1950s, marked the milestone last Wednesday and was visited by Governor General Sir Elliott Belgrave and feted by family and friends.

Even though her big day was a few days ago, Forde was dressed in her best and full of smiles and laughs when the SUNDAY SUN team passed by yesterday.

She was relaxing in the living room with daughter Joyce Piggott, granddaughter Camille, and great grandchildren Rashawn Walrond and Kiara Griffith.

Forde briefly recounted how she sat down last Wednesday to “receive” Sir Elliott, priest-in-charge of All Souls Anglican Church Kim Welch, and the other well-wishers. (YB)
