ST ELMO Friends have repeated as champions of the David Thompson Memorial Twenty20 Night Cricket Competition.

The star-studded St Elmo’s beat home-town favourites K Variety Green Team by 25 runs in the final on Sunday night at Gall Hill Playing Field, St John.

Batting first on winning the toss, St Elmo’s were dismissed off the last ball of the 20th over for 148 before restricting Green Team to 123 for seven.

St Elmo’s lost an early wicket when the game finally started after a half-hour delay but steady batting down the line saw them maintain a healthy scoring rate despite losing wickets regularly. (WH)
