TORONTO – Seven-time Woodbine champion Patrick Husbands continued his steady, if not spectacular progress, when he captured a double on Friday’s nine-race card.
The 43-year-old veteran, who has not been in the running for the jockeys’ title this season, captured Race 3 over a mile and sixteenth with 3-1 chance Crack That Whip before taking Race 5 over the same distance with 3-1 bet Bourbon First.
Husbands narrowly missed out on a third win when he finished second by a neck with 7-1 bet Front Nine in Race 6 over six furlongs, after setting the pace and then being caught late by Butilovesyababe. (CMC)
