BARBADIAN SURFER Chelsea Tuach continues to fly the national flag high around the world.
Yesterday, she reached the quarter-finals of the QS 3000 White Buffalo Women’s Pro in Japan.
After competing in the United States, Spain, France and Portugal earlier this year, Tuach is currently competing in Chiba, Japan, at the surf break which is earmarked as the venue for surfing’s debut at the Olympics in 2020.
She made it through a strong field of 64 of the world’s best professional surfers, to secure a place among the final eight.
Achieving scores in the high average to good range with her powerful, fluid surfing, Tuach, the No.3 seed in the event, will face off against Australian powerhouse and former championship tour surfer Dimity Stoyle when competition resumes today. (EZS)
