BARBADOS ARE GOING for their winners.

The country’s Davis Cup squad is leaving nothing to chance today, having gone for broke by playing veteran Haydn Lewis in both the opening and reverse singles, as well as the doubles of the Group I relegation tennis tie in the Dominican Republic.

It was the biggest news coming out of yesterday’s draw, as the visiting Barbadians opted to go for Lewis in today’s opening singles match against former top 50 player Victor Estrella.

Bajan ace and world No.132 Darian King is slated to take the court first against Jose Hernandez before the left-handed Lewis and Estrella end the day’s proceedings.

It marks a clear return to the team’s previous strategy of using King and Lewis for an entire tie to good effect.
