HENNESSY ARTISTRY is showing its national pride by making sure the 50th anniversary of Independence celebrations are enjoyed way after November 30.
On Friday, December 2, the three-day weekend of Hennessy Artistry kicks off with A Taste Of Hennessy, a cocktail party at Cin Cin in St James. The Saturday, the big show is at Kensington Oval with headliner Lauryn Hill and the Jamaican acts of Bounty Killa, Beenie Man and Taurus Riley.
It climaxes on Sunday, December 4, with Hennessy On The Beach at Pirates Cove with Jamaican Aidonia.
In its eighth year, Hennessy Artistry was growing, said Al Gilkes of promoters FAS, adding that each year they looked to top the previous year.
“We started out as a reggae show, but it mirrored the Reggae Festival so we started bringing in international acts two years ago.
“The interest in the festival is growing and we already have three charters out of Martinique booked for the event,” he said last night at the official press launch at Kensington.
One of the highlights of the launch was second-year sponsor Flow, which will be partnering with regional entities to bring the show to FLOW TV clients, albeit tape delayed. (NS)
