COB backs World tourney

THE CITY OF Bridgetown (COB) Credit Union has been announced as the major sponsor for the upcoming World Road Tennis Championships.

The announcement was made yesterday during a media conference at the National Sports Council by president of the World Road Tennis Federation, McArthur Barrow.

“We welcome local sponsorship for these sorts of major events,” he said.

“Road tennis, as we all know, has suddenly catapulted itself to the national forefront. This has not been an overnight process, but we have managed to take a sport that is indigenous to Barbados and package it in an international format.” (RA)
